Chelsea Kaplan’s Musings About Life... After Birth
Posted by Chelsea on July 20, 2008
A few weeks ago I wrote about what I believe to be the cutest kids’ stationery ever. This week, I’ve got something for us, mamas.
Again, I’m somewhat obsessed with stationery. Therefore, for me to label a particular brand as my new favorite - well, that really means something. In researching for the upcoming personalized stationery piece I’m writing for The Family Groove’s October issue, I came across the sweet, cheeky, handmade papergoods from Angeline Tsao of Cake + Milk Paperie and instantly fell in love. The hallmark of Tsao’s designs is her use of fabric; many of her products are adorned with ribbon or shimmery thread, like her adorable Ribbon Note Cards, for example:

Tsao’s other designs are equally magnificent - you must check them out and get some for your very own or, if you’re feeling in the mood to give as opposed to receive, for a friend. Once you find something that strikes your fancy, type “The Momtourage ” in the “How’d you hear about our shop?” box during checkout because Tsao’s offering The Momtourage a great little freebie: set of Shimmery Flats and envelopes in your choice of color (just type that in the box too) with purchase of any personalized stationery. This offer is only good through 8/15, so don’t dilly-dally, sisters.

The Kiefer Cottage
Meet the Kiefers: a quirky, lovable family of five on a quest to transform their 1940s Kansas City bungalow into the house of their dreams. The budget is small, the dreams are big, the creativity is inspiring. Check them out - you can thank us later. Happy reading, everybody!
Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® All Purpose Cleaner
I don't understand gals who claim to loooove cleaning. That said, I do get a certain joy from using Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day® All Purpose Cleaner to care for my home. You can't lose with this stuff...it is hard-working & earth-friendly, and will leave your abode smelling like a day spa instead of a chemical spill. Try Lemon Verbena in the kitchen and Basil in the bathroom. At only $7.99 a bottle, you can afford to pick up both!
True Blood
Um, does this even need a caption? Doubtful, but let me just say that this is the hottest hour on television. Vampires are seriously sexy (especially Eric), and on this show you get to see a lot of them--if you get what I mean. Put the kids to bed and flip the channel to HBO on Sundays at 9 p.m. to taste the fun that is True Blood.
Valentino Bow Thong Sandals
So comfy and feminine, I know I'd wear them all summer. But dang, that much money for jellies? Possibly worth the splurge. $275, nordstrom.com
New Balance Kids’ Sneakers in wide sizes
My boys have wide feet, which means finding cute shoes for them is tough. These, however, rock. Prices vary, visit nbwebexpress.com to purchase.
Zoya “Laurie” Nail Polish
This sheer pink polish is, without question, the PERFECT nude pink. Plus, the polish is free of formaldehyde, toluene, camphor and dibutyl phthalate (read: yucky crap that isn't really safe for prego gals). $6, enailsupply.com.

I love that! Thanks for the recommendation!
Very pretty. I like the note cards for kids too - with the ribbons.
What an organized person, and not only this but good tatse. Congratulations!!.
As a matter of fact, the colors selected are all perfect. They match well with each other.
Is agood idea the mixing that paper and the colors.
Buy the paper and embellishments at Parklea markets- You’ll save hundreds making the invites yourself. Instead of hiring 2 or 3 cars, hire the stretch hummer(they look crazy) and apparently it fits 12+ people.
I am not sure this is what you mean but here are the french words for stationery and writing paper.
papeterie = stationery Cuisinart Breadmakers
The cake is a rectangle cake and I want it to be very unusuall but not to hard to decorate. He likes ALOT of frosting on his cake. So any ideas of how to decorate it? Pretty and simple? I was thinking of an ocean cake or mountain cake. But mybe yiou have a better idea. If anybody has any pictures please post them.
I have made a cake and after putting the frosting on and covering in a cake holder a few minutes later I look and the cake is split down the middle. The cakes have been slightly warm this time the frosting was room temp. The first time the frosting was warm and so was the cake.
Thanks for recommending such a nice thing.
Pumpernickel Sausage Stuffing
Ingredients:
-4 tablespoons unsalted butter
-1 pound sweet Italian sausage (casings removed), meat chopped
-2 large celery ribs with leaves, chopped
-1 large onion, chopped
-1 (1 pound) loaf pumpernickel raisin bread, cut into 1-inch cubes and dried (leave out overnight or lightly toast in a 200 degrees F oven)
-1 (4 ounce) packet saltine crackers, crumbled
-1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
-4 eggs, lightly beaten
-2 cups turkey stock or canned low-sodium chicken broth
-1/4 cup chopped flat leaf parsley
Cooking directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the sausage and cook for 5 minutes, crumbling the meat with the back of a spoon. Add the celery and onion and cook until the vegetables are tender and the meat is browned, 7 to 10 minutes. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and let cool.
2. Add the bread cubes, crackers, thyme, eggs, stock and parsley to the bowl and mix well (use your hands if you like—it’s fun). The mixture should be moist but not soggy; add a little more stock if you like your stuffing wetter. Season the stuffing with salt and pepper. Place in a 9-by-13-inch buttered baking dish and bake for 1 hour. (To keep the stuffing moist, cover the top loosely with foil while it bakes:)
I would like to thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Thank you for your text about this good topic! I would buy already written essays or buy custom essay papers with the help of the term paper writing services.
