Chelsea Kaplan’s Musings About Life... After Birth
Posted by Chelsea on May 13, 2008
I love Self magazine - especially the beauty features. And it’s not just because most are written and/or produced by one of my best friends, Leah Wyar, Self’s Deputy Beauty Director (she and I have known each other for nearly eight years - beginning way back when we were little baby beauty editors!). Self’s beauty content is just really straightforward, honest and accessible, and that’s how beauty talk should be, you know?
Presently, Self is running a very cool contest that I have to tell you all about:
If youre at least 18 years old, you could score a session with celeb hairstylist David Evangelista and be featured (with your new, gorgeous do) in the September issue of SELF. The makeover and photo shoot will take place on May 28 and 29. You must be available both days; if youre not in the NYC area, you will need to arrive by May 27.
Interested? Fill out and submit the below information by this Friday.
1. Which celebrity hair style appeals to you most?
1) Jessica Albas lengthy waves
2) Gwyneth Paltrows textured bob
3) Reese Witherspoons long, sleek strands
4) Rihannas chic, short cut
5) Nicole Richies off-the-face fabulous style
2. Why are you drawn to that style?
3. What problems are you looking to resolve in your next hair cut?
4. Why do you especially need a new style now? (i.e., an upcoming reunion or other important date/situation?)
5. What is your:

My Current Obsessions
The Kiefer Cottage
Meet the Kiefers: a quirky, lovable family of five on a quest to transform their 1940s Kansas City bungalow into the house of their dreams. The budget is small, the dreams are big, the creativity is inspiring. Check them out - you can thank us later. Happy reading, everybody!
Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® All Purpose Cleaner
I don't understand gals who claim to loooove cleaning. That said, I do get a certain joy from using Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day® All Purpose Cleaner to care for my home. You can't lose with this stuff...it is hard-working & earth-friendly, and will leave your abode smelling like a day spa instead of a chemical spill. Try Lemon Verbena in the kitchen and Basil in the bathroom. At only $7.99 a bottle, you can afford to pick up both!
True Blood
Um, does this even need a caption? Doubtful, but let me just say that this is the hottest hour on television. Vampires are seriously sexy (especially Eric), and on this show you get to see a lot of them--if you get what I mean. Put the kids to bed and flip the channel to HBO on Sundays at 9 p.m. to taste the fun that is True Blood.
Valentino Bow Thong Sandals
So comfy and feminine, I know I'd wear them all summer. But dang, that much money for jellies? Possibly worth the splurge. $275, nordstrom.com
New Balance Kids’ Sneakers in wide sizes
My boys have wide feet, which means finding cute shoes for them is tough. These, however, rock. Prices vary, visit nbwebexpress.com to purchase.
Zoya “Laurie” Nail Polish
This sheer pink polish is, without question, the PERFECT nude pink. Plus, the polish is free of formaldehyde, toluene, camphor and dibutyl phthalate (read: yucky crap that isn't really safe for prego gals). $6, enailsupply.com.

You knoe what, If only you could see me you will see that hair is what I have and enough to give away. lol
I loose interest im my hair long time ago. Is there a great product on sale??
Try doing little, unique changes. Like take a little section of hair from your temple, twist it a bit, lay it flat, and bobby pin it in place. That alone looks really cute.
Really a nice offer to change the look in celebrity style and it also give a chance to create a new star celebrity. But the sad part for that is who is not a USA resident. If I was, I would give it a go. As I always been craving to have a hairstyle from a celebrity hairstylist.
